A- Market Types
|
- There are two types of markets in SWU: the Free Interaction Market, and the Galactic Market.
- In the Free Interaction Market, products are bought independently from the server and the buyer
must find transport for the goods.
- In the server market, the server itself manages the prices. This market provides transportation
for any goods bought by the user.
|
B- Free Interaction Market
|
- In the Free Interaction Market, sellers and the buyers interact independent of the server. This
market is almost like the classifieds section of the holonet. A seller's goods are listed, and buyers
can browse the available goods.
- When a seller places goods on the market, he is given the option to choose what to sell. He can sell
one thing or several things in a group. The seller sets a price on the item(s), after which the good are
placed on the market.
- When a buyer decides to buy, he is given a choice to buy the goods or to haggle over the price. If he
chooses to haggle, he can offer a different price. When the seller next logs on, he will see a message
to either confirm the price or to offer a new one, in which case the buyer will recieve a confirmation message.
- Buyers can only offer a price up to the total amount of credits he owns. A deal cannot be confirmed if the
buyer has less than the amount of credits offered for the sale.
- When both the buyer and the seller agree on a price, the sale is completed. The cost of the goods is subtracted
from the buyer's credits and added to the seller's credits. The buyer must find transportation for the goods on his own.
|
C- Galactic Market
|
- In the Galactic Market, the server controls the prices of all goods, and sellers and buyers never interact
with each other.
- When a seller sells to the market, the transaction is immediate. The goods are taken out of the seller's
inventory and added to the market and the seller recieves the amount of credits for the sold goods.
- Likewise, when a buyer decides to buy, the cost of the goods is subtracted from his credits
- A sales tax is placed on goods depending on what planet the goods are purchased from.
- Several choices will be available in order to transport the goods from their current position in the
galaxy to a location specified by the buyer:
- Choose the planet from which the sale occurs, the planet of destination, and a hyperspeed value.
- Leave the goods where they are and provide personal transportation for them.
- If the buyer chooses the server transportation, the cost of the sale is increased by the cost of 5000 credits
per 50 spacial units traveled.
