Explanation of Stats
|
- Weapons can be of Blaster, Explosive, Artillery, Melee, or Capital-Grade types.
- Blaster weapons are small weapons that count anywhere from 1 to 6 towards a
character's maximum weight allowance. They include all ion and normal blasters
and blaster rifles as well as slugthrowers.
- Explosive weapons are explosives that count anywhere from 1 to 9 towards a
character's maximum weight allowance. They include everything from small thrown
explosives to large rocket launchers.
- Artillery are very heavy weapons that count anywhere from 9 to 12 towards a
character's maximum weight allowance, or that cannot be moved at all.
- Melee weapons are hand-held weapons that count anywhere from 1 to 5 towards a
character's maximum weight allowance. They can only be used in close combat but
are able to deal much damage, depending on the character's Melee Combat skill.
- Capital-Grade weapons are used only on ships and vehicles. They include all energy
weapons as well as warheads, gravity wells, and tractor beams used on vehicles or starships.
These are the only weapons that can harm starships.
- Just as there are different types of weapons, there are different types of
damage. These include Energy, Explosive, Physical, and Ionic. Each damage type has
certain characteristics that distinguish it from the others.
- Energy-type can be absorbed by shields and all armor that is labeled as energy armor.
Explosive-type damage can damage shields, energy armor, and physical armor.
Physical-type damage is dealt by melee weapons. It cannot be blocked by shields or
energy armor. Ionic-type damage either stuns a character, droid, animal, or a ship or vehicle for a
period of time.
- The maximum range on a weapon is how far the laser, bullet, or explosive can
travel. If a laser or bullet goes past this range, it will disappear and do no damage.
If an explosive reaches its maximum range, it will explode before it can go any
farther. It is best to aim at targets closer to your minimum range (point blank)
than to aim at targets close to your maximum range.
- Some weapons can be used more than once in a round.
- When in melee combat, if a weapon comes into contact with another weapon
with a damage rating more than 10 above that of the original melee weapon, it is
overpowered and sliced in two. The character must then use another weapon or flee
from the fight.
- If a substance contains less than 50% quantum, all weapons can penetrate it
and damage is dealt. If a substance contains at least 50% quantum, only explosive
and capital-grade weapons may damage it.
